Our Travel Tips

We recommend you arrive the afternoon before you hunting date. We go through a safety check of the guns and hunters and help any beginners. You can leave on a late flight the last day of your hunt, works well and you don’t lose a day traveling. To take your game home, bring a heavy duffel bag, then carry it on the plane with you or check it. We also have an excellent butcher in our local town that has won several awards for his many kinds of sausages etc. As of 2006 a lot of our hunters have had their birds made into sausage, pepper sticks and jerky. The best part is that it will be ready when you leave and in most cases you will not need an extra bag.

Airports:

Aberdeen, SD: We will pick you up – Northwest Mesaba/Delta Airlines.

Fargo, ND: Northwest, United, Frontier, Allegiant Airlines: You rent a car and it is a pleasant 2 hour drive.

Sioux Falls, SD: Northwest, Delta, United, Pinnacle, Allegiant Airlines. You rent a car and it is a 3 hour drive.

Minneapolis, MN: Air Canada, Air Tran Airways, American, Comair, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Icelandair, KLM, Mesaba, Midwest, Northwest, SkyWest, Sun Country, United, US Airways and numerous charter and cargo carriers.You rent a car and it is a 5 hour drive.
If you chose to leave your shotgun at home due to the new baggage laws, we have a wide variety of guns that you are more then welcome to use during your stay at Dakota Hunting Farms.

Clothing suggestions: Layers, Layers and more layers! Bring clothing that you can layer. Check the forecast before you leave and pack accordingly.
